This is the work of the great British illustrator Terence Greer, regularly appeared in Radio Times and on Penguin book covers of the 1960s. His blobby ink style is evocative of Ben Shahn but very recognisable as Greer. Born in 1929 he is still with us and would be nice to think that he still puts pen to blotting paper.
The illustration shown was produced in 1962 for The Polio Research Fund and is beautifully sensitive.
