This is Miranda July.
I like her because a few years ago she wrote, directed and stared in this..
‘Me and You and Everyone We Know’. A beautiful film that makes me want to hug her. But she also wrote this…
A really quirky and funny collection of short stories. If I ever meet her I know that we’d get on. I just know it. Take a look at her website. It’s positively charming. Oh yes, these were not part of Miranda's book.

They were given to me by my friend, Melanie Andrews. I think they are the best post-it tabs I've seen. You can get them, and lots of other nice things, at bobsyouruncle.com
And always remember this...

oh, I was listening to an interview she did yesterday

the website she did for her book remains one of my favourite site's I've ever seen. I keep pointing at it saying its a great case of making something imaginatively and really wanting to communicate instead of the lets just build something and hope for the best approach.

C'mon, you like her because she is hot! (and she dresses well) I find it interesting that the first book, other than her own, that she holds up on her site is by Rick Moody. Only the other day I was thinking about how the current wave of quirky, small-town, American indie films (Me You and Everyone We Know, Juno, Garden State, Sideways, Little Miss Sunshine etc) owe a massive debt to Rick Moody. One of them even nicks its title and half its plot from a Moody novel. and yet they all share a feel-good sentimentalism that is mostly absent from Moody's work.
I am enjoying your blog immensely. Its nice to read a design blog with opinions other than 'this is nice' and 'i like this'
